Join us for our 45th Anniversary Celebration Open House
Please join the Amherstburg Freedom Museum as we celebrate its 45th Anniversary on September 21st! You can join the festivities online as we are hosting both a virtual event on our Facebook page and a live event on Sunday, September 20th from 1-3:30pm on the grounds of the museum. Admission is by donation, and registration for the in-person event is required.
This event has been generously sponsored by James H. Sutton Funeral Home, we are grateful for their continued support of the Amherstburg Freedom Museum.
To commemorate our 45th anniversary, our gatherings will feature music and dance performances, interviews and recollections and a special contest for those who will attend our in-person event. Decorate your mask and come celebrate with us! The most creative mask will win a museum prize package! We are also hosting a silent auction event at www.AFM45.givesmart.com starting Monday September 14th and ending Monday September 28th.
We want to thank the community for their support over the last 45 years. This in-person event will comply with the guidelines of the health unit including a mandatory mask rule and adhering to their limit of no more than 100 people outside and 50 people inside the museum building.
Additionally, we will require guests to reserve a ticket and we will limit the amount of people who can actually enter the museum building. The in-person event will also depend on the weather and whether we are still in stage 3. We want to maintain the safety of visitors.
