Many events in store for this year’s Emancipation Jubilee!

Learn about Emancipation in Windsor native Preston Chase’s award-winning “Mr. Emancipation: The Walter Perry Story” documentary at Capitol Theatre Windsor. Dine into the weekend at Amherstburg Freedom Museum’s emancipation banquet. After, bring your kids to Leslie McCurdy’s children’s show and enjoy an evening of African fashion, dance, food, and laughter in the Jubilee’s Saturday opening night at the Windsor West Indian Association (Caribbean Centre). Top it off on Sunday with a time of thankfulness, singing, fellowship & community at The Historical Sandwich FIRST Baptist Church (Sandwich First Baptist Church). Then celebrate in Jackson Park with family, fun, games and historic walking tours on Emancipation Day!
