Emancipation Jubilee 2022

Presented by the Canadian Race Relations Foundation with funding provided by the Government of Canada and OPSEU Coalition of Racialized Workers. You’re invited to this year’s Emancipation Jubilee events from July 30 – August 1, 2022!

3 days of free, family friendly, fun:

Saturday July 30 at 4-11 PM | Caribbean Centre 2410 Central Ave.
• Opening Ceremonies
• Leslie McCurdy’s Children’s Show (Ages 4-7) on Harriet Tubman
• Fashion Show
• Caribbean Dance Party
• Caribbean and African Foods for sale.

Sunday July 31 at 10 AM – 4 PM | Sandwich First Baptist Church 3652 Sandwich St.
• Church Service and Gospel Concert
• A “Community Conversation” (in collaboration with the National Black Canadians Summit sponsored by the Michäelle Jean Foundation)
• An All-comers Parade
• Barbecue Dinners for sale!

Monday August 1 (Emancipation Day) at 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Jackson Park Recreational Area
• BYOF&D Casual Family Gathering
• Fun and Games for All Ages
• Historic Walking Tours remembering Windsor’s Legendary Emancipation Celebrations
