Sheneese hails from Pensacola, Florida and relocated to Detroit, Michigan in the mid 1980’s. After meeting her husband, she moved to Canada in 2011. Sheneese graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and has over 20 years of experience in marketing and fundraising. She is currently the Group Sales Manager at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
Sheneese enjoys being involved in the community and has been engaged in numerous fundraising events such as The Wright Museum Galas, Detroit Youth Day, Susan G. Komen Walk For the Cure and the Molina Community Outreach Program, just to name a few. Sheneese learned about becoming a Board Director at the Amherstburg Freedom Museum through her friend, and current AFM Board Director, Barb Porter. Sheneese is very enthusiastic and is excited to help the museum continue to share the amazing stories of the brave freedom seekers who came to this country to start a new life. Sheneese says that joining the Amherstburg Freedom Museum Board is the perfect opportunity to apply her years of experience to promote awareness of African History and the needs of the Museum.
She approaches everything with a passion for excellence, and is dedicated to getting results. Sheneese loves to travel and experience different cultures. She has visited Europe, Central and South America, Asia and most recently, Egypt. Her hobbies include landscaping, interior decorating, event planning and spending time with her husband of 15 years.
