David grew up in Windsor, attending W.D Lowe and the University of Windsor where he achieved an Honours Bachelor of Commerce and Economics degree.
David works as a self-directed investor and entrepreneur, most recently founding a small-dollar charitable foundation, 1010Giving.ca. Prior to this, David established award-winning software and consulting businesses and held VP, Sales and Operations Responsibility roles at Fortune 500 companies. At Nokia, he grew their software business from $40M to $140M in 3 years. David has lived and worked in China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Toronto, Singapore, Hong Kong and Silicon Valley (US). David speaks Mandarin Chinese.
David has two adult children. Lanson, 23, graduated from the University of Toronto and is employed as an analyst at Bell Canada. His daughter Lauren, 21, studies at the University of Toronto, where she has been a Captain and 2x All Star for the school's Rugby Team.
