A Blaze of Story, Featuring Erik E-Tomic Johnson

Join poet Erik E-Tomic Johnson and City of Windsor Multicultural Storyteller Teajai Travis
for a Blaze of Story.

Erik E-Tomic Johnson is a local hip-hop inspired wordsmith from Windsor-Essex
region, and a proud son of Sandwich Towne in Windsor’s west end as well as a member of the afro
indigenous community and a poet and advocate for artists with disabilities. Erik has lent his talents and
voice to numerous events and causes in his community and abroad over his lengthy career as a
wordsmith including, competing in the Windsor Slam Poetry competition and becoming the 2018 grand
slam champion and going on to join the Windsor Poetry Slam team, where he then went on to represent
Windsor at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word, he then went on to be an interview on Talkin Real
Melanin as well as being featured in the Across The River to Freedom documentary as well as numerous
other events.

More recently Erik has stepped into the world of self-publishing when he launched his first
collection of poetry called Well Versed, and most recently he has tapped into his talent for storytelling
by facilitating a charity event known as All Hallowed Reads Halloween event which will have its 3rd
installment coming later this year and his second collection of poems. Stay tuned for more from this
prolific poet as he brings his passion for storytelling from the page and the stage!
