We invite you to join us on Thursday, August 31st at 6:30pm at the Amherstburg Freedom Museum (277 King Street) for an in-person presentation and reception for the opening of the exhibit “Beyond the Underground Railroad: A History of Black Settlement in Nineteenth Century Amherstburg.” This exhibit was created by University of Windsor student Karleigh Kochaniec as part of the Local Black History Internship Program, which is a partnership between the Department of History, University of Windsor and the Amherstburg Freedom Museum. Generously funded by a Mitacs Accelerate Program Grant and the Board of Directors of the Amherstburg Freedom Museum.

The Mac Simpson Award was created to honour the legacy of Museum founder, Melvin Mac Simpson.
